This technique can be messy...your stamps and hands will have plenty of ink on them, so have newspaper and wet wipes handy.  Also note there is less cleanup when two or more brayers are used.

Step 1:  Get bottle of dye based (not pigment) re-inking fluid.

Step 2:  Take the stamp and apply ink to the rubber side using several different colors for a multi-colored effect.  This ink is applied directly from the bottle.

Step 3:  Lighty roll the brayer over the rubber to blend the colors.
(A brayer can be purchased at any craft or stamp store.  It is a small rubber roller with a handle and costs in the area of $11-15).

Step 4:  Take the inked stamp and use on any type of paper you choose.  Glossy gives a much different finish than other more porous papers.

Step 5:  Re-stamp without re-inking for a lighter layering effect as seen in the pumpkin cards.  You can also re-moisten the stamp by "huffing"  which is similar to breathing on your glasses to clean them.

Step 6:  Once your stamped image is finished to your liking, create your composition using several other stamping techniques.
